A Finn wants to go to sauna on a holiday, and a Finnish sauna is an experience for many foreigners. In the Forssa region, there are smoke saunas, underground saunas, a boat sauna, a landscape sauna and traditional lakeside saunas, among others. The sauna experience can also be completed by bathing in a hot tube or by taking a dip in the freesing cold water throught an ice hole in winter.
The public sauna at the Ruostejärvi hiking and recreation area offer gentle steams
On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1pm to 6pm.
The sauna is free of charge and open to everyone.
The sauna season runs from May 6 to September 30, 2025.
Notice that there are some exceptions is opening days: sauna is not available at 17th, 24th and 26th of June.
The sauna is located at the former camp center of the City of Forssa and is renovated and operated by the city.
The area features also a swimming beach with changing cabins, a cooking shelter, a lean-to shelter, a boardwalk trail, and a pull ferry.
