You are sure to get hungry at some time of the day. And in the Forssa region there is plenty to choose from. International gourmet cooking as well as locally sourced foods - always fresh, delicious and prepared by professionals, whether it is just a snack or something for a real hunger.  

If it is coffee or something sweet you desire, for example a lovely portion of ice-cream, there is a variety of cozy and comfy cafes in the Forssa region.

The Museum Railway, Narrow Gauge Rail Museum and the Minkiö station environment are filled with nostalgic rail travel atmosphere, including a café and a terrace.

Scheduled steam trains in June and July on Sundays and in August on Saturdays. 

In addition to taking a steam train you can also rent handcars at Jokioinen Museum Railway. With the handcar you can travel at your own speed. You will enjoy the lovely countryside. If u want you can even stop at a fire place at an ex gravel pit. The handcars are two person handcars that can carry up to four people. There are total of four handcars for rent so you can even take your friends on board! You can rent the handcars at the Minkiö station while the Minkiö Narrow Gauge Museum is open. You cannot rent handcars while the scheduled trains are running.

At Jokioinen Museum Railway it is also possible to hire Your own steam train! 

The Narrow-Gauge Railway Museum, handcar rental and summer café are open in summer 2026:

  • May 18 – June 12: Mon–Fri 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • June 14 – June 28: Mon–Fri 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Sun 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM (no railcar rentals on Sundays)
  • June 29 – July 26: Tue–Sat 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Sun 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM (no railcar rentals on Sundays)
  • July 27 – August 28: Mon–Fri 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Sat 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM (no railcar rentals on Saturdays)

Museum trains operate in June–July on Sundays and in August on Saturdays until August 22.

Admission to the Narrow-Gauge Railway Museum is free of charge.
